Sketch Saturday Challenge #597 with Riley & Company

Hi Everyone!  Welcome to the Sketch Saturday Challenge #597!  Our sponsor this year is Riley and Company! They have such fun images and sentiments and for this card, I used the sentiment “Dropdown Menu“!

This is an A2 size card or 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 inches. A while back I made a bunch of background panels with the gel press, so much fun! I cut the panel down to 5 1/4 X 4 inches and then cut it down to a 4-inch square and a piece that was 4 X 1 1/4 inches. I used my Fiskars cloud scissors to edge a piece of black cardstock and cut it to 4 X 1/2 inch. I had a 2 1/2 inch circle cut from another project that was green and thought it worked perfectly with the card and finally, I cut a piece of black card stock to 3 1/3 X 1 1/2 inches to put behind the circle.

I cut the sentiment stamp so that the “Happy Birthday Anyway” was separate from the rest of the sentiment and I used my Misti and stamped the large sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then again with embossing ink and heat embossed some black Hero Arts embossing powder. Then I stamped the “Happy Birthday” portion onto black cardstock with embossing ink and heat embossed it using Stampendous white embossing powder.

I took out two black enamel dots that I made by melting pony beads, and some purple and white twine from my stash.

Then I pieced the card together using the sketch onto a black card base.  Easy Peasy but such a fun card!
